Such clear blue skies
Sunlight hitting my eyes
Clouds are rolling in
The winds started to pick up

Some are hurrying back home
Some wrapping up their errands
Some getting their umbrellas ready
Some already gone home or inside

Winds starting to blow harder
Making few nearly lose balance
Others making the umbrella malfunction
Then, the first water droplet falls

Such a tiny droplet of water
Nearly invisible on my skin
But at the moment water and skin met
It was a feeling that only rain can give me

The feel of a single droplet
Felt soothing for only a brief moment
Then a few more start to fall
Now it starts to feel relaxing

Some people run or walk past me
Others look at me like I'm crazy
The rain's not very heavy
But all this is just rain

Leaning my head back facing the dark clouds
I feel rain pour all over my face
Feels more like a shower at home
But it feels more natural for the soul

Relaxing for the restless mind
Cleansing for the tired body
Soothing for an aching soul
Lifting for the caged spirit

Until there is something to distract me
The rain is my friend, the most soothing friend
If the rain were a living human being
That would have been the right girl for me
